A new selection meeting between the Senegalese candidates and the Moroccan candidates took place today. Both teams are made up of locals as Benjamin Bouchouari (Morocco) faced his teammates Boubacar Fall and El Hadji Dieye (Senegal). The match was played at 7:30 p.m. on Moroccan soil and the difference between the two teams was great.
All replacements!
In this match between two strong nations from the African continent, the three Stéphanois were not starters for this first leg. In fact, a second opposition will take place between the two teams to prepare for CHAN. This competition between under-23 teams will take place in early January and will feature the participation of Senegal and Morocco. It is surprising that goalkeeper Boubacar Fall with his number 16 is the first to enter this match in the 55th minute. Benjamin Bouchouari and his number 25 return to him in the 63rd minute. Finally, El Hadji Dieye and his number 7 returned in the minute 66. The match ended with a score of 4-0 for Senegal!
individual performance
Bouchouari was not a starter in this match as he played 30 minutes with the Atléticos against Madagascar. The Moroccan coach wanted to give him playing time in an exhibition match. A show of confidence but that explains his limited game time of the day. The midfielder was active and willing in a struggling midfield.
Dieye came close to scoring the 5th Senegalese goal after a parried free kick, controlled and chained with a beautiful left foot that narrowly missed the frame! Otherwise, he alternated the good and the less good with questionable play choices at times. About the half hour of play that he was offered, he will have played the first quarter of an hour as a right back and the second as a left back!
Finally, Boubacar Fall was not in high demand. Stéphanois’s goalkeeper played mainly on his feet, either short or long. He brilliantly secured the first few climbs. He didn’t have to make any stops, but he did have to pick up some air balloons.
